That's a pretty big statement, but one that's easy to back up. The unique heavy barrel is said to play a key role in the 357's accuracy. The barrel features tensioning due to the shroud. As a result, the nut is torqued down and the barrel is pulled forward. Dunno. But I can give you a couple more data points. The first digit is always the year of manufacture. For my 2009 Valor, the serial# is 9 plus the build number for a total of four digits. Hi Dan. First, it is indeed a .32 Safety Hammerless Second Model. The spotting feature is the T-type barrel latch. The First Model did not have this feature. Second, while all First Model units did have only 5 digit serial numbers, some Second Models did as well.
