Comestion or Miasma - This is usually for groups of smaller "trash" enemies. Quick cast AoE. Comestion is better off un-upgraded imo, but High Comestion still casts pretty fast. Miasma is great vs slow moving/larger enemies, and can inflict Poison. Try both and see which one you like better.
Seconding the enchant thing. The game isn't overly picky on elemental advantages so pick 1 and let the pawn have other skills (comestion/anodyne/halidom are 3 common picks for a support mage, leaving 2 more slots). Hmmm, well my pawns inclination stopped changing after a while. I always make sure, when I find a chair, to make sure my pawn still has said inclination. Even if it hasn't changed, just select the inclination you want.
