Dumping tasks DOES count even before picking a task. But dumping tasks DOES not affect your race score or position in any league. The golden league has the global leader board which takes your average score and adds bonus points and takes a dumping penalty. So don't worry and dump tasks to win the race. Game takes me to regatta screen then shuts down. So, like the title says, when I open the app it immediately goes to the regatta screen and then shuts down after the rewards are shown. If you pick it THEN delete it (red trashcan), it counts as a 0 for the task. Just to add: You have to be an elder rank or above in the co-op to dump tasks with the blue trash can.
