I’m a fan of well done grips, the stock grip in my opinion was sub par especially since I have well over 12 guns with STI’s Costa or DVC grips. They are done for STI by Extreme Shooters. I already knew that liked the way the 2011 shot, so I chose the Staccato. A $2500 gun is the least of my worries if I have to use it in self defense. They're not that expensive for a 2011, I don't have one but I'd say they're probably worth it- especially if you qualify for the mil/le 15% off + 6 mags deal.For me I got a DLC barrel and love it. The less wear isn’t the only benefit. It’s smoother all around which makes a difference with these tight tolerances. If you had to guesstimate a % how much would you say. I couldn’t give you an exact percentage but at $100, I think it’s worth it.

Staccato is one of the most expensive handguns I own. However every dollar was worth it and I never think about the cost because I feel like every dollar was worth the value of the gun! I have cheaper guns I think I overpaid because they do not deliver like the staccato!

I don't think the XC is worth the price tag. You're getting tighter finish and a integrated comp for 2k more than a P or C2. I personally sold my XC and got a P instead and carry a C2 daily. But considering you can get it for 3600 makes it a bit more reasonable. I'd still stick with a C2 just because it's more versatile.

An upgraded mag catch came with the release of the Gen 2 Staccato grips. That was to help with the overinsertion problem that STI's and 2011's in general had been plagued by for years. It did help but did noy completely stop that from happening.
