25 posts · Joined 2015. #1 · Oct 20, 2021. hi my 2013 impala lt with 63000 mi gave this message, engine not hot, no ac, and radiator fans were on temp gauge at lowest spot. as noted here , i rebooted the system .battery disconnest ,and all was back to normal for a 3 hour trip. anybody know whats going on? thanks for your considerstion. If the engine coolant temp sensor is bad it could give a false signal to the PCM, making it think the engine is hot and causing the message. Since you aren't overheating I don't see any reason not to drive the truck until you get home and can visit the dealer.

Try turning the AC on to the highest setting you should see the fan turn on. The temp increasing while sitting in traffic sucks butt thats something ive learned to accept. Some GM vehicles are set up to keep the fan running, even with the key off, when the temperature goes past a certain point (usually the maximum extreme temp) to aid in cooling down the engine compartment.
