Jeep wrangler limp mode reset.

A chain parts store, for example, can plug in a code reader and check for codes at no charge. "Limp home mode" technically has to do with an auto trans. JK. The problem could be as simple as the computer not recognizing the pedal input. By shutting it down and re-starting it was most likely re-booted and everything returned to normal.

BTW, if you want to know about "limp mode" for these trannies, it's a mechanically controlled shift, with your only options being 2nd and 3rd gears by moving the steering column between "1"/"2" and "D" respectively. You no longer have access to 1st or 4th gears.
