Rpf pierce 2 LBG can outdamage pierce 3 HBG by quite a bit. (Not to mention LBg has Mizu's LBG which does Pierce 3 while walking and shooting at clip size 5 and lowest recoil and reload. Its weaker than rpf pierce 2, but its something) Ammo economy is great for both pierce 2 and 3.

HBG and LBG are going to be reeeeally hard to build effectively early on. Narg and Kadachi HBGs are pretty good with pierce, and can be worked on as you advance. They even synergize with Narg set! Do your tailraider stuff for ancient fragments so you can build the gloves, as they're absurdly useful during storyline.
