Learning that lesson, I put myself on lists at two local dealers for the next-gen GT4 (one required a $1k deposit which is refundable in my state of WA and the other didn't need a deposit, but I've bought 2 Porsches from them ... Throw a set of the new Cup Sport 2 N1 tires on it, and you're pretty much neck and neck on track with the new one. Also, the 4.0L is kind of a one-off engine with cylinder deactivation with a few reliability issues early on. That's why Porsche stuck with the 3.8L in both the 981 and 718 versions of the GT4 Clubsport.

The gt4 is the more track focused. The gt4 will be lower, stiffer, and substantially more powerful. Since you can't test drive the gt4 the only possibility would be to see if they have a gt3 you could compare to a 911s or gts. That might give you an idea of the difference between the two cars. I wouldn't buy a gt4 as a daily driver, personally.
