John deere 318 no spark.

I have a John Deere 318 lawn mower tractor with a Onan P218G engine. Runs on one cylinder only. Good spark and compression. One cylinder runs at 287 the other runs at 100. Checked plugs and wires. Pulled spark plug wire off coil, when running one makes no difference the other one quits. Any ideas?With a spark plug in the coil wire, and the plug touching ground (negative), touch the wire on the negative side of the coil to ground and then remove it repeatedly. This should produce a spark at the spark plug each time you remove the wire from ground. Upvote.
