I use chaffhay. It's alfalfa with a sweet feed and both whitetails and axis love it. It smells 10x more than a regular bale of alfalfa hay. It comes in a 50# bag for about $12.50 a bag. I've thrown it out where their was no feeder and both whitetails and exotics find it the same day.
