I also do not know how to find my 3DS's exact key hex values for the AES Keys (since the digits in the example layout for the txt file were just placeholders). I have a webcam and I have it configured so that the emulator can use my camera, and I am even able to preview the camera and it works, but for whatever reason, the QR code reader always shows up blank.
