If you connect the 2 then the data feed that you pay for on tradovate can be used on tradingview. Also if you so desire you could use tradingview to actually place trades through tradovate. Tradingview has this option available for a couple of different brokers. To do it go to tradovate settings, "add ons" and look for the tradingview option.

This is true everywhere. Tradovate has pretty good loss limit tools though. Manage your risk appropriately. Futures can gap in value especially if they’re illiquid. Some contracts like softs or grains, etc can gap max for days at a time without letting you get out. I don’t watch these much but have seen it happen.

Been using GFF Brokers but their commissions are pretty high; $1.37 per contract per round for micros, and $4.80 per contract per round for e-minis, so I wanted to see if there was something out there that was cheaper. As I said I don't use Tradovate, but basic data in CQG data in Ninjatrader is $12 a month, and it provides the main CME instruments, among many others. Either way, you are paying for market data. I suppose similar to the way that Samsung or Apple make phones, but the don't work without a carrier connection, which have separate contracts and fees.
