Then work the key in and out and turn on and off; a few minutes. This is to loosen the ignition up. I had the same problem, once with my car key. Waited 30 seconds, and reinserted the fuze, and the CD popped out of the player. Put the radio code back in, and the volume control functioned correctly. Put another CD in (thinking the other CD may have been scrached etc.) and the same thing happened (i.e. could not read/eject and the volume control was stuffed).

Something that might help also would be to gently apply the parking brake (keep your finger on the release button so it won't set) for a short distance just before parking the car. That will heat and dry both the shoes and drums and remove moisture that causes the rusting.
